About The Event

5 Years ago we had our first M32 Flea Market. LitterARTI managed to get funding together to clear up the area and improve it for local residents. We had a gathering where 70 or so people came and we asked them what they wanted to change under the M32 Motorway and what they wanted to see happen in the space. The Flea Market idea came from local residents. It has been a journey, with lots of work to brand it and make it a go-to-destination. During the lockdown years we were able to provide a community anchor for many people and opportunity to trade for many creatives and small businesses. Some of our traders have been with us since the start, others pop in every now and then for a house clearance. We are able to provide a regular income and be a start point for some. Some traders have started out with us, to become successful businesses. Thank you to everyone for your continued support. Thank you for bringing so much into this community - not only your wonderful selves and creativity every month. You are part of improving a dire, dark unsafe space within a community. Over the past 5 years we have seen regular clean ups in the area, drug pushing has gone down and it appears more safe for locals. The area still has its problems with fly-tipping and homelessness, but by being residents in the space alongside the skaters, we bring the space alive and encourage others to use it as well. We are delighted to say that the M32 Flea Market is at last in a position to provide other benefit to the community as well; through making donations to the DIY skatepark - towards ramp improvements and tools and the offer of children workshops and play sessions in partnership with local residents and Playing Out, supported by BYCA during the half terms. Our next sessions coming up will be Monday, 24 October 1-4pm by the M32 skatepark, and Tuesday, 25 October  12pm-2pm at the Nissen Hut in Eastville Park. Bring your kids for fun with LitterARTI. Save the dates for the next flea markets for:  26 November and 17 December!
